Home/Services/Shower Door Replacement

Shower Door Replacement

Pull the old enclosure, fix what’s underneath, and set glass that actually fits.

When it’s time to replace, not repair

Some enclosures are worth fixing — a worn roller or a dead seal is a cheap afternoon. Others have been fighting a bad fit since the day they went in, and every repair is just buying a few more months.

Replace it if you’re seeing:

  • Water on the bathroom floor after every shower, no matter how much silicone is on there.
  • Glass that stays cloudy after cleaning — that’s etching from hard water, and it doesn’t come back.
  • A frame that’s corroding, pitting, or separating at the corners.
  • A door you have to lift, lean on, or slam to close.
  • An enclosure that’s simply dated — heavy framed units make a renovated bathroom look unrenovated.

What replacement involves

We remove the old unit carefully — the risk in a replacement is always the tile, and prying out an old frame is how people crack it. Then we look at what’s underneath. Long-term leaks often leave soft grout, failed waterproofing, or rot at the curb, and there’s no point setting new glass on top of that. If we find it, we’ll show you before we go any further.

From there it’s the same as a new install: measure the opening as it now sits, fabricate the glass to those dimensions, set it, seal it, clean up.

Upgrading while you’re at it

Most people replacing a framed builder-grade unit go frameless or semi-frameless, and the bathroom reads twice as big for it. Others stay with a slider because the room is tight. We’ll walk the space and tell you which options genuinely work in it — including the ones that don’t, and why.

If you’re replacing the enclosure as part of a wider remodel, get us in early. Tile layout, curb slope, and wall blocking all affect what glass we can hang.

How fast?

Custom glass has to be cut and tempered, so it isn’t same-day — anyone promising that is handing you a stock kit. We’ll give you a realistic turnaround when we measure, and if the timeline moves you’ll hear it from us before you have to ask.
